Everybody has heard of eBay if not used it at some point for either buying or selling.

eBay has been a very pleasurable experience for us. When we first started out, it was purely to buy. It was so easy!

They have a step by step guide on how to get started. Firstly, you will need to have a paypal account and once you have that you are ready to go.

A few important things to remember when buying goods...

1. When you bid on an item, you are entering into a contract to purchase that item should you win. You can't just change your mind at the last minute and decide not to buy!

2. Always consider whether you are actually getting a bargain. Take into consideration postage charges and add that to your final costs. Sometimes, although the price is low the postage will make your purchase the same price as if you were paying retail.

3. If buying electrical or equipment of any kind... is there a warranty and does it comply with your countries safety standards? Personally, our buying experiences have all been great. The items received have all been of good quality and fantastic prices.

Now when it comes to selling, it is also very easy to do. Again they have a step by step process which is very easy to follow. Just make sure you choose the correct category for your item otherwise people won't find it - be specific! I've put a few other tips below...

1. Be realistic with your expectations. People won't purchase your items if the price (including postage) is equal to or more than what people could buy retail. Think about it - why would they?

2. Focus on getting your feedback numbers up and maintain them at 100% satisfaction. Buyers and sellers alike look at this on your profile. I personally only buy from sellers with a feedback profile of 98% or higher.
