Protect Yourself!
The Home Based Business Industry is FULL of SCAMS!!!

Here's what you NEED to know
so you don't fall into the TRAPS...

From the desk of:
Chris Lee
Co-founder

There are literally thousands of options available when it comes to Home Based Business opportunities.

However, the two most common and reputable strategies are 'Affiliate Marketing' and 'Network Marketing'.

There is a significant difference between the two and the information below will help you understand what they are and HOW they work so you can make an intelligent and informed decision if you choose to get involved with them.

'Affiliate Marketing'...

Perhaps you've heard of it, maybe you've tried it or maybe you're currently using it?

But what is it really?... And why do some people struggle with it whilst others create MONSTROUS fortunes from it?

Well there are many ways to create income online and affiliate marketing is one of the most popular methods to use. It is also commonly known as a form of 'Internet Marketing' where you create an income through the sale of a selected product and/or service that you promote online on behalf of a chosen Company to generate a commission.

Affiliate Programs are used by thousands of Companies all over the world to help onsell their products and/or services by paying their affiliates a percentage of each sale that they generate.

In other words... they establish a very large commission based sales team!

Now Affiliate Programs are basically designed to provide a genuine win-win venture for both a Company and its Affiliates and this is where 'Affiliate Marketing' has become a very popular way for many everyday people to fire their boss and generate an often 'life-transforming' income online.

Sounds great doesn't it.

But guess what... it's not as easy as many people like to make it out to be.

You see... there are a lot of people that set up squeeze pages and various websites on the internet promising the world by showing you 'HOW TO EASILY MAKE MONEY' on the internet or something of that nature. And once they have you convinced that you can do it with some very slick copy writing, they will simply ask you for $49.00 to acquire that information.

And what do you get?

You get a whole bunch of CRAP that only tells you what you need to do but doesn't actually show you HOW to do it and that is where all the hard work begins and is the stuff that YOU NEED.

So if you have to learn all of the 'HOWS' by yourself, then what the hell was the point in paying $49.00 for?... Be careful!

It is an unfortunate fact that the internet attracts thousands upon thousands of 'SCAM Artists' who take immense pleasure in applying all sorts of emotionally manipulating 'HYPE' and deceiving you with all sorts of 'BULLSHIT' that only ends in heartache complimented by the loss of your valuable time and income.

This also brings me to the point of people charging you to become an affiliate of their program. I have seen this quite a few times and have often wondered how many people have fallen for that.

Why?

Well what's an affiliate?... 'a commission based sales person'... right?

So why would you PAY to go and work as a commission based sales person?...

If I am spending money from my own pocket to drive new leads to a Company offering a service or product where they make a bucket load of profit on each sale, then there is absolutely no way in hell I am going to pay them to do that... agreed?

This is also where it is important to find reputable affiliate programs that pay decent commissions and pay on time.

So be careful!

But hey... don't start to panic just yet because it's not all bad. Affiliate Marketing is actually a very credible way to generate an income online, if you know what you're doing and what to look out for.

However, like anything worth pursuing, it takes time and money to educate yourself, so you don't end up falling victim to the increasing number of SCAMS that currently plague the internet.

What you really NEED to understand and acknowledge is that 'Affiliate Marketing' is simply applying the age old science of 'DIRECT SALES' and just taking the whole concept online. It has actually taken on a new title on the internet, which is commonly known as 'Internet Marketing'.

To give you an example... Direct selling would usually implement the following selling techniques to create new sales for a particular product or service...

:Cost effective highly targeted lead generation

:Pre-sell by building rapport with your target market

:Establish a Contact Database of clients to market to.

:Attend lots of Business Networking Events

:Develop skills to increase closing rate

So to translate those basic Direct Sales Techniques mentioned above to create sales online you would need to...

:Create traffic to generate leads

:Offer valuable attention grabbing content

:Create a mailing list to build credibility & market to.

:Participate in forums, set up blogs, social networking etc.

:Implement automated systems to increase your closing rate

Please do keep in mind that this is just a basic overview of only a few key Direct Sales techniques that can be used and each of them go into a lot more depth and detail. The latest and greatest mediums for doing this kind of stuff is using 'Social Networks' and online media such as 'You Tube' to create online sales.

However, all the 'hype' you hear about it is basically related to the fact that when you take this whole concept online you can automate virtually ALL of it, which is actually pretty cool!

But you know what... most people are just too damn lazy and really can't be bothered to learn and implement all of the stuff needed to market online correctly. So if you are willing to put in the effort, you can end up making lots of money because you end up selling your products and/or services to those people who are too lazy to get off their behinds and give it a go.

This can definitely put the odds in your favour!

However, if you make the decision to get involved in Affiliate Marketing and fail to educate yourself and develop the necessary skills required to generate traffic and sell effectively online, then you may find yourself experiencing some very harsh and costly learning lessons, which may also prevent you from achieving your income and lifestyle goals.

So if you feel that you have the determination and drive to create an income online and would like to read the reviews of the programs we recommended and also use ourselves, then please visit the menu bar to the left and make a selection.

Network Marketing...

Network Marketing is a common term used to describe a popular business building model, which most people know as Multi-level Marketing or it's abbreviated term... 'MLM'

There are many varying opinions about MLM, which seems to attract either a 'love it or hate it' mentality. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however, it is also very important that your opinion is fully informed and not just a one-sided biased opinion based upon someone else's or even your own failure.

Why?

Because there are some who have failed miserably and others who have succeeded and created incredible fortunes from it. So it's O.K to be skeptical but if you let pure cynicism get in the way of making an informed and intelligent decision, then you are not being very SMART.

So with that said, here's something to think about....

What would the person who succeeds with MLM do differently to the person who fails?

Well, of course there are many factors that could contribute, but before we continue I would like to ask you a quick question...

Do you believe that it is good 'business sense' to cold call an unqualified prospect and then try to convince them to build their own product distribution system, when they have ansolutely no experience in business and didn't really have the desire to do so before they were approached by you?

If you answered NO... then you would be absolutely correct. Well done!

If you answered YES... well I'm sorry, but you belong in the highly saturated and uneducated group of Network Marketing Amateurs.

So if you are one of the amateurs why would you think that kind of behaviour is 'acceptable' to use in business?

Is it because you think it's a numbers game?

Is it because you think everyone wants what you have?

Is it because the product you have works so well for you, that it will work well for everyone else?

Really... what makes your Network Marketing venture so uniquely different to every other business when it comes to marketing, advertising and sales?

The fact is that it's NO DIFFERENT, yet there are literally hundreds of thousands of Network Marketers out there today who insist on using ridiculously intrusive strategies such as...

: Email spamming (this includes contacting Facebook 'friends'!)...
: Developing lists of people who they 'think' might be interested and contacting them... (i.e Cold Calling)
: Deliberately misleading unqualified prospects using coercion to get them to a 'meeting' or the opportunity to sit down in front of them to try and 'convince' them to join their business...

And all sorts of other unethical and unprofessional crap that simply annoys the hell out of everyone.

(By the way... if you want to know how to really annoy someone who has done this to you, then click here...

These are just a few of the CRITICAL MISTAKES made by many thousands of amateur network marketers, who fall into the trap of becoming addicted to the excitement and potential of how much they 'could potentially' make through the good 'ol' Compensation Plan'.

You see, most inexperienced Network Marketers rely on a Compensation Plan as a tool to help 'recruit' new distributors into their downline, however, it is one of the many DEADLY SINS that can potentially sink your business and credibility overnight.

And for some the 'product' often does not matter or is rarely taken into consideration as most Network Marketers are only focused on the money they can 'potentially' earn and therefore tend to jump from one Company to the next if things don't start working straight away.

So what happens is that most of them find that they are still stuck in the same position 4 or 5+ companies later because they insist on using completely USELESS methods to try and build their business that simply do NOT work, no matter what Company, Product or Compensation Plan is being offered.

I have come across so many struggling individuals who do this and I must admit that I have been guilty of it myself many years ago when I had absolutely NO IDEA what I was doing.

The funny thing is though... if you have been approached by a Network Marketer who is trying to build their business that way you may often find that when you contact them a few months later they have already left the Company they were so passionate about, which also had the best product, compensation plan blahh!... blahh!...blahh!

They are usually the Network Marketers who will email you saying something like... "Hi, I went to a meeting last night and came across this really great product, which has done wonders for me. Here's some more info to check it out..."

Or some other bullshit like that.

They often live by the misconception that 'This next opportunity will be THE ONE'. But the reality is that they are living in a fantasy world where all of those dreams, goals and desires that are swirling around in their head and tacked onto their Vision Board will NEVER EVER manifest into reality.

Why?

Because 99% of them are using completely ridiculous strategies that just UPSETS and ANNOYS the hell out of everyone they come into contact with.

That's NOT the SMART way to run a business!

However, they insist on chasing the dream usually out of desperation and hope that someday they will make money.

There is a common term for this. It's called 'INSANE'

In other words...

They keep doing the same thing over and over and expect a different result.

It's amazing how many Network Marketers do it, but it's not always entirely their fault because they usually have an upline 'mentor' (I use the term 'mentor' very loosely by the way) who tells them to keep going and not to give up, complimented by a HUGE dose of 'motivational fluff' that continues feeding them under false pretences until their next useless time wasting hotel meeting.

What a crock!

That's just exploiting an innocent downline distributor who has been a little naieve and believed a whole lot of slick overpowering motivational B.S without ever being given any REAL workable strategies to generate a significant income from their Network Marketing venture.

So why would they do that?

Because they usually have NO IDEA HOW TO DO IT THEMSELVES and are usually TOO DAMN LAZY TO LEARN HOW.

Here's an example to re-iterate what I'm talking about...

Just imagine you were an apprentice electrician and your boss sent you up into a clients roof (in the dark) to fix a bunch of dangerous exposed wires and only armed you with a crappy little torch that barely lights up and a dirty old set of unsafe tools complimented by the fact that they couldn't actually show you WHAT to do or HOW to do it SAFELY without getting severely electrocuted.

That would be REALLY, REALLY stupid and VERY, VERY irresponsible... right?

Well, that's what happens everyday in the Network Marketing Industry where you have unqualified idiots (sorry 'Mentors') trying to guide and educate new apprentices in the world of business with crappy tools and strategies complimented by the fact that they actually have NO IDEA how to build a successful business themselves.

No wonder the failure rate is so damn high.

Honestly... who would want to be involved in a business like that?

Certainly not me!

It's truly sick what goes on in this industry, but the really scary part is that there are many other common mistakes that can be far more devastating that virtually every Network Marketer makes without even realising it and in turn, can doom you to failure before you even begin!

So if you are one of the few opportunity seekers intelligent enough to acknowledge that there are certain skills you need to develop before you can even think about starting your own Network Marketing Venture, then you will give yourself such a MASSIVE head start and eventually have people knocking on your door wanting to know what you are doing different to the rest of the crowd.

Now here's an interesting fact to ponder over before we continue on...

Most people who are involved in business actually know very little about business. It really is astounding, however the powerful emotions of having freedom, money, control of your destiny, control of your time etc. is enough to make many individuals dive head first into new opportunities that give the slightest glimpse of hope and a chance that all of those dreams and desires will become a reality.

But here's the thing... that's just NOT SMART.

Believe it or not... Network Marketing is not a 'one size fits all' business. You need a fair amount of business acumen to be able to understand the key principles behind it, why it works, how it works, what doesn't work (which is often taught as 'the way' to do it)... just to name a few.

The way Networking Marketing is done by most of the amateurs in the industry often reminds me of all the people who choose to dive head first into the stock market thinking they will make a quick buck or even a small fortune using advanced strategies without ever taking the time to learn HOW to do it correctly from a credible, well informed and successful expert or credible training course.

But instead of firstly investing their time and money into acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to succeed, they decide to take on the market themselves, trying to save a buck, and then get burned whilst trying to play with the BIG boys... so to speak.

And after they fail and lose most or all of their hard earned cash, most of them start whinging and complaining that the strategy sucks, blames everyone else for their silly mistakes and more often than not simply refuses to take responsibility and hold themselves accountable for their actions.

Is that being SMART?

Of course not. It's being a complete TOOL!

This is also why I believe that it should NOT be acceptable for the average 'Joe Bloe' to take on a new network marketing venture without proper training, advice, mentorship and guidance BEFORE starting their business.

Without it, they are destined to fail and very few people actually have the tenacity, drive and determination to pick themselves up, dust themselves off and keep going.

But here's one of the main challenges that most network marketers have to deal with, even AFTER they have acquired the right information and training...

Most people to this day are under a very strong misconception that network marketing requires you to build a business (or downline if you like) by consistently cold calling, approaching friends, family, colleagues, associates and god knows who else using a confronting 'sales pitch' to generate new sales and 'recruit' new downline distributors.

But here's the thing... that is NOT the way to successfully work a Network Marketing venture.

Yes, it is done that way and has been done like that for many years, but that is NOT what the BIG HITTERS do.

The fact of the matter is that Network Marketing / Multi-level Marketing / Relationship Marketing or whatever you want to call it is a perfectly sound business concept.

The problem is HOW it's done!

In other words... the problem with Network Marketing are the 'Network Marketers'.

I'm sure you can imagine how many inexperienced network marketers I get 'approached' by every day.

Why?

Well... because I like Network Marketing and believe it's a sound concept, many inexpereinced Network Marketers automatically think that I am now a pre-qualified prospect and will proceed to promote their opportunities to me.

However, little do they know that I am the last person that they should even consider approaching with their opportunity.

Why?

BECAUSE I THOROUGHLY ENJOY GRILLING AMATEUR
NETWORK MARKETERS WHO APPROACH ME FIRST
WITH THEIR OPPORTUNITIES!

You see, most Network Marketers who have spammed or deliberately misled me so they can present their opportunity to me at a sit down consultation will usually find that they leave my office in one or more of the following conditions... in tears, hurt, angry, in shock, dumbfounded, dumbstruck, speechless, inspired, empowered or a completely changed person with a new sense of perspective and confidence to help them succeed.

However, in saying that... I have NEVER, EVER met one single network marketer who has 'approached me first' that really knows their stuff about business, network marketing or the product they are promoting.

So guess what my response is everytime...

You guessed it... 'NO'

Why...

Because they have shown me how they do business.

I do not want to do business and be mentored by someone who has less knowledge than myself about Network Marketing, nor do I have the desire to go into business with someone who fails to pre-qualify their clients and attempts to fast track the professional relationship building process by deliberately misleading their prospects using coercion so they can get a brief opportunity to email or sit in front of them trying to 'convince' them to join their downline.

That would be a complete and utter waste of my extremely valuable time.

This is also why I have a huge problem with some 'so called' network marketing 'gurus' who say something along the lines of...

"Just join up, buy the product each month and learn as you go along!"

Really?

C'mon...

If that honestly works so well, just have a think about this for a second...

What if you're being taught the wrong thing from the start?

And worse... what if the person 'mentoring' you is teaching you the wrong thing without even knowing it?

That's right... you're completely stuffed!

But you may be thinking that you have 'THE BEST' Product, 'THE BEST' Compensation Plan, 'THE BEST' Systems, 'THE BEST' Upline and 'THE BEST' Company... right?

Well guess what... EVERYONE has 'THE BEST' Product, 'THE BEST' Compensation Plan, 'THE BEST' Systems, 'THE BEST' Upline and 'THE BEST' Company... blahh! blahh! blahh!

So it's like the blind leading the blind with virtually no chance of ever seeing any sign of success whatsoever.

Yet, many of us have been 'approached' by someone promoting a network marketing opportunity who has done exactly that and it just makes the whole process very awkward and uncomfortable when we are eventually asked to 'sign up'.

But before we continue, I would like the both of us to agree on something...

I think that most people like the 'idea' of network marketing where you can earn a residual based income that pays every week or month without having to go to a J.O.B you don't really enjoy and / or trade your valuable time for dollars... correct?

O.K. let's be really honest... who wouldn't?

It really is the ideal lifestyle income but it is ironically the 'networking' and 'marketing' that most network marketers have a real challenge with.

It really is amazing how badly it's done.

But with all the 'rahh rahh', 'hype' and B.S that is spread throughout the industry how are you supposed to learn and really know right from wrong.

For example: Being told by some idiot in your upline or your so called 'mentor' to go out and sell to your friends, family, colleagues and associates (because they are your 'warm' market) and try to recruit them into your downline.

OH, GIVE ME A BREAK!

And PLEASE take note of the following...

That is 'NOT' Network Marketing. That is what most people 'THINK' network marketing is... but it isn't.

I am also 99.9% convinced that the concept of approaching your friends and family is something that has been taught and passed down from a bunch of unprofessional and unethical tight-ass clowns for the last 50 - 60 years, who just wanted to try and save money on advertising and take the whole 'word of mouth' concept wayyyyyy too literally.

I'm sure it was also an ill-conceived scheme to try and convince people who were struggling financially to get involved in their downline and give them the impression that they didn't have to spend any extra money on advertising.

That way they can focus on building their own downline, collecting the commissions and continue telling BIG FAT LIES to their poor struggling downline distributors saying that they can approach and sell to their family, friends, colleagues plus anyone else they could think of and they will listen to their confronting speil and like it.

And if they don't all respond positively, that's O.K because after all it's just a numbers game... right?

What a load of B.S!

Why?

Firstly, I have NEVER, EVER met one person in my 36 years on this planet that likes being 'sold' to... have you?

And secondly, network marketing is a 'Relationship Built' business. Trying to implement a hard sell system playing the numbers game is the wrong methodology to use in a relationship built business and will only ever lead to failure.

But here's something interesting to note...

Guess what happens to most of the network marketers who promote the whole 'approach your friends, family and colleagues' concept...

Their downline disappears!

Why?

Because when their downline distributors don't get any results from their stupid advice, they drop out and then that continues duplicating upwards until there is no one left in the entire downline.

This happens A LOT and very few network marketers actually know why.

This is also why there is a ton of articles and information that refers to a networking marketing venture as... 'trying to fill a leaking bucket!'

In other words... they have more distributors leaving their downline than coming in. This is also why many network marketers find that their friends, family and colleagues who do choose to sign up (usually out of support and empathy) only try it for 3 - 6 months and then drop out.

So what happens when they don't have anymore friends, family and colleagues to sign up and can no longer handle the soul destroying task of harrassing innocent people in the street, shopping centres, networking events and god knows where else?

They drop out too and start spreading the word of how suckful the network marketing industry is and how it doesn't work and you can't earn any money... yadda! yadda! yadda!

Now of course that is virtually predictable, when completely useless methods are used to try and build a network marketing business.

So don't always believe everything you hear or read on the internet about that sort of thing.

I really do hope this is helping to clear a few things up and it is also why I am convinced that what has happened over the last 50 - 60 years is that the whole 'word of mouth' concept was firstly highly exploited, then duplicated to the point where everyone inside and outside of the network marketing industry to this day (that's right... even those who have never even run their own network marketing venture) just thinks that is 'the way' network marketing is done.

That just shows you the immense power of duplication... in a really negative way!

Imagine what could happen in your business when it is done right?

So that is why cold calling, purchasing leads and making a list of your friends, family and colleagues is just plain DUMB and does not work efficiently in this industrty. It just pisses people off, which is why the network marketing industry has one of the most tarnished reputations of any legitimate business model in the world.

The fact that network marketing is taught as a legitimate business model at universities all over the world doesn't matter.

Why?

Because if most people fail using it, then no one will want to know about it... agreed?

So here's a little secret that will wake up a lot of struggling network marketers...

Yes, Network Marketing is a relationship built business.

But 'Word of Mouth' only works if you have already achieved significant results yourself and people 'ask you first' about what you're doing.

Until that happens you simply don't have any credibility because you cannot produce any feasible results.

So what do you do until then?

Well, that is a very heavily guarded secret that only the minority know and it is the one crucial thing that WILL turn your network marketing venture around so you can get to the point where people start asking you HOW they can join YOUR business.

If you also do your research, you will actually find that all successful network marketers do not cold call or approach their friends, family and colleagues... EVER!

They, in fact, do the exact opposite, which is also why they are in the top 1% of all income earners in the network marketing industry.

So, just remember that if you are considering getting involved in a Network Marketing venture and then blindly choose to take the cold calling or 'making a list of your friends, family & colleagues' approach to promote your opportunity (even when you already know deep down that it just doesn't feel right), then you are destined for failure... GUARANTEED!!!

You will completely destoy your credibility, lose friends, upset family members and become one of the most despised and avoided people on the planet.

So if you have been struggling and wondering why your Network Marketing business is not pulling in the income you initially expected when you signed up, then chances are you're making some or all of the most common mistakes that doom 99% of network marketers to certain failure.

And if you are now thinking that the only way you can succeed is by getting in at the top of the next new opportunity that comes along, you would be absolutely...

WRONG!

This is a complete fallacy that has been spread by a huge number of frustrated network marketers who have always struggled and never made a cent in their business.

Your placement in a downline has absolutely NOTHING to do with your success and that is a FACT. Yes, it's a bonus... but it certainly has NOTHING to do with your overall success.

And these are just a few of the topics that are discussed further in our brand new and highly anticipated 7 Day Network Marketers eCourse due for release in the coming weeks.
